CC and Virtual Homeschool Communities

At this time, Classical Conversations Inc. does not offer a virtual community option. One of the functions of the local CC Communities is to provide a platform for students to practice their dialectic and rhetorical skills. This is done through the students meeting together one day a week.

There are a number of reasons for this:

1. We believe that meaningful community cannot happen by electronic means, but by in-person participation. 

2. Electronic participation makes it easier to record community programs, which could then be disseminated to other families that are not enrolled in CC. 

3. Electronic participation would require an extra burden on the director or tutor to invest in the technology and the weekly setup of the equipment.

4. It could create distractions and disrupt classroom activities.
