How the Foundations and Essentials programs work
The Foundations and Essentials programs meet once a week with a trained Classical Conversations tutor along with other students in what we call a Classical Conversations community.
Foundations is designed for students in grades K4-6, and Essentials is designed for students in grades 4-6. The Foundations program meets in the morning and focuses on memorization of key facts in six core subjects, which includes history, geography, science, English, Latin, and math.
The Essentials program meets after lunch on the same day and focuses on English grammar, writing structure and style, and math accuracy and speed. We would encourage you to contact the Foundations/Essentials director in your area to get more information. They would be more than happy to have you come in and observe the program in action and to get more information.
To find a community in your area, go to the top right hand side of our website and click the Community button. You will see a place to enter your city, state and/or zip code. Once you enter your information and click Find, you will see a list of communities in your area.
